Job Title: Audit Senior 

Location: Westborough, MA (with potential flexibility within the New England area) 

Salary: $80,000 - $120,00 + Discretionary Bonuses

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Audit Senior to take a leading role within our dynamic audit practice. As an Audit Senior, you will be instrumental in leading client audit engagements, primarily in the field, supervising and mentoring staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage client audit engagements from planning through completion, including risk assessment, scoping, and execution of audit procedures.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor multiple junior audit staff members on engagements, fostering their professional development and reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop comprehensive audit plans and tailor audit programs based on a thorough understanding of client operations and risk profiles.
  • Perform and oversee detailed testing of significant account balances, transactions, and internal controls to ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Ensure all audit work performed is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including all necessary disclosures and supporting schedules, ensuring compliance with all GAAP standards.
  • Effectively utilize audit methodologies, documentation practices, and reporting checklists.
  • Communicate audit findings, internal control recommendations, and engagement status clearly and effectively to audit managers, partners, and client management.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to outstanding service.
  • Assist in managing engagement budgets and ensuring timely completion of audit fieldwork and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3+) years of progressive audit experience within a public accounting firm.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and U.S. GAAS.
  • Proven ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading audit engagements in the field and supervising junior staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and all levels of firm personnel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • A proactive attitude, a commitment to quality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience working within a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency with audit engagement software (e.g., ProSystem fx Engagement, Caseware, or similar platforms).
  • Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience auditing clients in specific industries prevalent in the New England market.
