Heavy Civil Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and that bids are competitive and comprehensive. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project specifications and requirements, providing valuable insights that will contribute to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil construction projects including site work, paving, utilities, and highways.
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to develop project cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary data for accurate estimation.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and HCSS to streamline the bidding process.
- Review and validate subcontractor bids and procurement costs to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor project budgets and timelines throughout the bidding process to ensure competitiveness and feasibility.
- Provide support during the bidding process, answering inquiries and providing clarification as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with estimating software such as HeavyBid, HCSS, and Trimble.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
