Hybrid Chemical Process Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Hybrid Chemical Process Engineer to join our team. Who can work onsite 2x a week in the office and work remotely or travel as needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing chemical processes used in the production of various materials, ensuring efficiency and safety in a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop chemical process systems for various production requirements.
Create and analyze Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Conduct material and energy balances to ensure efficient resource use in manufacturing processes.
Develop equipment and process specifications for new and existing chemical processes.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve existing processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Conduct optimization studies to enhance process efficiency and output.
Work on the integration of solid feedstock including coal, carbon, limestone, and metals into the manufacturing processes.
Support the development of new manufacturing methods and techniques in a plant environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Experience with material and energy balances and optimization studies.
Familiarity with equipment and process specifications and engineering design principles.
Knowledge of solid feedstocks such as coal, carbon, limestone, and metals, particularly in mining and ore processing.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with Aspen software is a plus.
