Recruiter Spotlight: Remy Schor is Dedicated to Finding the Perfect Match

By The CyberCoders Team - February 18th, 2016
Inside CyberCoders

Have you met Executive Recruiter Remy Schor, one of CyberCoders' Rockstar Recruiters?

Schor specializes in JavaScript,  J2EE,  .Net,  Product Management, and Opensource recruiting, and is a Beach Ultimate Frisbee World Champion when she's not in the office.

Tell us about an exciting job match you made recently?

I was working with an ad agency in LA about a year ago, got a candidate in process but ultimately it wasn’t the right fit. I stayed in touch with the candidate and when I reached out in Q4, he said he wasn’t on the market unless I had an open role in Phoenix. Turns out I had just picked up a new client through the hiring manager at the aforementioned LA-based ad agency and when I mentioned to this hiring manager that this candidate was thinking about moving to Phoenix and reminded him that there was previous mutual interest, the hiring manager gave me the green light to submit him. Many interviews later, an offer was made, the candidate moved, and I recently received feedback that he’s crushing it.

What drives you to go above and beyond?

The opportunity to be positively acknowledged and to earn a high compensation so that I can do the things I love to do in my non-work time.

What do you think separates CyberCoders from the average recruiting firm?

There are a few things: the people I work with are awesome, my manager does a really good job balancing his support while giving us space to manage our own desks, our access to an effectively unlimited number of candidates, and the compensation and incentives (flexible schedule, good benefits, parties, etc.).

What is your favorite part about being a recruiter?

I think of myself, first and foremost, as a sales person. This has opened so many doors for me. The skills I’ve learned over my 11 years in recruiting have helped me in every area of my life, from intensity-in-training to interpersonal communication. I know a lot about how companies work and I think I have a very good understanding of how to help people figure out what they want in their next role.

What are your favorite hobbies or activities outside of the office?

When I’m not in the office I’m doing the following: playing competitive Ultimate, Crossfitting (to train for Ultimate), learning, reading, listening to podcasts, cooking, and traveling for Ultimate.
