We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Maintenance Technician for a machining manufacturing company in Milwaukee!. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of a comprehensive maintenance schedule based on equipment usage, manufacturer recommendations, and historical performance data to optimize machinery uptime and longevity.
  • Execution of rapid diagnostic procedures and corrective actions using advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to minimize operational disruptions and production losses.
  • Application of systematic diagnostic methodologies and root cause analysis to identify and rectify mechanical or electrical faults in equipment.
  • Utilization of specialized technical knowledge and problem-solving strategies to address and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring optimal machinery performance.
  • Strategic sourcing and procurement of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts to ensure compatibility, reliability, and performance of machinery.
  • Conducting rigorous inspections to verify that machinery and components meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements, thereby preventing defects and ensuring safety.
  • Adherence to established occupational health and safety regulations to protect workers and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaboration with external service providers, including specialized maintenance and repair contractors, to execute complex maintenance tasks and ensure seamless integration with in-house operations.
  • Engagement in data-driven maintenance planning and condition monitoring techniques to forecast and prevent potential equipment failures.
  • Regular reporting to the Engineering Manager on maintenance activities, progress, and emerging issues through detailed reports.
  •  Development of standardized maintenance procedures and protocols, including step-by-step instructions and best practices, to ensure consistency and reliability in maintenance operations.
  • Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate production assistants on routine maintenance tasks, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain equipment effectively.
  • Undertaking additional maintenance-related tasks as required by supervisors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the maintenance team.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, to meet maintenance demands and ensure the continuous operation of critical machinery.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma: A foundational education is necessary for understanding basic technical concepts and documentation.
  • 10+ years of experience in a maintenance position within a manufacturing organization Extensive experience ensures a deep understanding of the complexities and demands of maintaining industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints: Essential for interpreting and following technical schematics and diagrams accurately.
  • Excels in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and fixing technical issues is critical for maintaining continuous operation of machinery.
  • The job often involves manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces, which requires physical strength and stamina.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to new technologies, tools, and methods in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Capable of identifying issues promptly and devising effective solutions to prevent downtime.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in maintenance technology and practices through ongoing education and training.
