Production Supervisor
Position Overview
The Production Supervisor will oversee daily production operations in a food manufacturing facility, ensuring that processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role is crucial in maintaining product quality and compliance with industry standards while optimizing productivity and resource management.
Weekend warrior (F-Sa-Su), essentially 3x12 schedule
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities in the food manufacturing process.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations throughout the production process.
- Monitor product quality and implement quality control measures as needed.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain for timely materials delivery.
- Schedule production runs to meet demand while optimizing equipment usage and labor resources.
- Train and mentor production staff on best practices and operational procedures.
- Analyze production data to identify areas for process improvement and implement Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and internal policies.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, with a focus on meat processing or production.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and compliance in the food industry.
- Experience with quality control processes and techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in inventory management and production scheduling.
- Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
