Quality Assurance Manager

Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Far Rockaway, NY. Must be on-site at the facility!
Salary: $90k - 120k.
Requirements: Food background is a plus (FDA or USDA). Microbiological background helpful, but not required. SQF certified; HACCP certified; PSQI certified. Management over QA staff

Position Overview
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the quality assurance processes within the organization, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in maintaining the safety and quality of food products, managing quality assurance teams, and implementing effective quality control measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures in compliance with SQF, FDA, and USDA standards.
  • Manage and supervise the quality assurance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective execution of quality processes.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead investigations into product quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of quality and food safety across the organization.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all quality assurance activities and compliance requirements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SQF, HACCP, FDA, and USDA regulations.
  • HACCP Certification is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing quality assurance teams and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
