Structural Inspector (Building Construction)

Position Overview
The Structural Inspector is responsible for ensuring that building constructions adhere to safety and structural integrity standards. This role involves inspecting various materials and construction methods to verify compliance with codes and specifications, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in all projects.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of building structures and materials including wood, steel, masonry, and concrete.
Evaluate the integrity and safety of building constructions through visual and physical assessments.
Ensure compliance with local and national building codes and regulations during construction projects.
Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to address and rectify issues identified during inspections.
Provide recommendations for improvement and compliance to ensure structural safety.
Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and emerging construction technologies.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Structural Inspector or similar role in building construction.
Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices.
Familiarity with inspection techniques and tools used in structural assessment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professionals in the construction field.
Relevant certifications or licenses in structural inspection are a plus.
